Commuter Parking Nuisance in Broad Hinton

We the undersigned petition Wokingham Borough Council to extend parking controls in Broad Hinton and its offshoot cul-de-sacs in Twyford to discourage the indiscriminate and sometimes unsafe parking by commuters. Commuters currently cause congestion and safety hazards by parking on the many blind corners of the development and generally obstruct householders who need space for their own needs. We propose that, at both ends of the development and its offshoots, the roads are divided into zones where parking is either not permitted between 11.00am and 12.00noon, or between 12.00noon and 13.00, alternating. This ensures that residents' visitors and trades vehicles always have somewhere to park legally, but all day and long term parking is discouraged and administered by Wokingham's Civil Parking Enforcement. The straight section from 86 to 119 Broad Hinton should be exempt from controls other than for Bus stops, to provide general parking along the green's centre section. Parking controls should also clearly mark corners to 10 metres of junct

A 2012 petition (part paper and part on line) proposing these controls was signed by 420 householders but was blocked by WBC
