There are eight Members of the Council’s
Executive and they are also known as Portfolio Holders. In addition to being able to make decisions as a
group, they can also make certain decisions as
individuals. These decisions are known
as Individual Executive Member Decisions (IEMDs) and they require a
report to be written and published.
A number of officers and other Councillors will be
consulted, prior to the decision being made. The benefit of this system is that comparatively
routine decisions can be fast tracked so
that the Executive can concentrate on more strategic
issues.
As with meetings of the Executive, decisions to be
taken by individual Executive Members must appear on the Forward
Plan, and summaries of the decisions are published on the Council's
website. Copies of the signed decision
sheets can be viewed at the Council Offices, Shute End Wokingham
during normal office hours.
