Councillor Lindsay Ferris made the following statement:

“At the Personnel Board meeting held on 31 October 2018 I declared a personal interest as I stated that I felt I could not comment on one of the candidate’s suitability.  I have since been advised by Democratic Services that I do not actually have a personal interest and there was no reason for me to declare an interest at that meeting.  Therefore I will not be declaring an interest at this meeting.”

The Board received a report regarding the recruitment of the Chief Executive.

The Personnel Board will exclude press and public in order to discuss the Part 2 sheets of Agenda Item 70 above and to do so it must pass a resolution in the following terms:

That under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act (as amended) as appropriate.

The Personnel Board interviewed candidates for the position of Chief Executive.

RESOLVED: That

1)      It be recommended to Council that Susan Parsonage be appointed as Chief Executive;

2)      Susan Parsonage be paid the salary as agreed by the Personnel Board.
