Royal Berkshire Hospital Hydrotherapy Pool pdf icon PDF 8 MB

In November 2016 it was announced that with effect from 30 March 2017, the hydrotherapy pool at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, would close. 

 

In January 2017 the Trust Board announced that this closure would be deferred until 30 June 2017.  During this period the pool would continue to be fully operational and the Trust would clarify its Clinical and Estates strategies regarding the hydrotherapy service.  Work would be undertaken with local partners to address questions raised and engagement would also take place with existing facility users.  In addition the Trust would work with local Clinical Commissioning Groups, other NHS partners and the local authority to explore the future of the hydrotherapy service.

 

It is noted that provision will continue in some form.

 

The Committee is seeking to understand the process of the decision.
