IMD9 Consultation on Ending the Sale of New Petrol, Diesel and Hybrid Cars and Vans by 2035 (or earlier) Response pdf icon PDF 366 KB

Decision:

That the Executive Member for Climate Emergency approved the consultation response at Appendix 1 for submission to the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), with the following two additions:

 

1.     Encourage the Government to legislate for the protection of the supply of petrol and diesel for existing and classic cars;

 

2.     Encourage the Government to move the date backwards unless a British manufacturer of electric vehicles can readily produce a vehicle with either/or a 500 mile range or a 10 minute fast charging capability.
