Save our School Crossing Patrollers.
Wokingham Borough Council is proposing that eight school crossing patrollers on pedestrian crossings in Wokingham Borough are not needed because the pedestrian crossing provides a safe point to cross. We disagree.
Wokingham Borough Council considers that these eight schools
already give children a safe place to cross: Beechwood Primary,
Coombes Primary School, Emmbrook Infant and Junior Schools,
Hawthorns Primary School, Highwood Primary School, Sonning Primary
School, Earley St Peter's Primary School and Whiteknights Primary
School.
Large numbers of pupils leave these schools in a short space of
time at peak traffic time. Our school crossing patrollers carefully
monitor the children and help maintain their safety at the crossing
every day.
Please put the safety and well being of our children before a
negligible cost saving of withdrawing our school crossing
patrollers.
