An apology for absence was submitted from Councillor Stuart Munro.

To receive any declarations of interest

Councillor Pauline Helliar-Symons declared a Personal Interest in Item 25 Longlist for Permanent Chief Executive, on the grounds that she had interviewed one of the candidates previously.

That under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act as appropriate.

To consider applications for this post and to agree a longlist of candidates.

The Board considered applications for the post of the permanent Chief Executive of Wokingham Borough Council and determined which candidates should be taken forward for long list interview. 

RESOLVED:  That

1)         the applicants submitted by the Executive Search firm, Berwick        Partners be reviewed;

2)         9 candidates from those classified as either ‘A’, ‘B+’, or ‘B’ be            supported to proceed to longlist interview;

3)         the candidates classified as ‘C’ be rejected.
